EGi CRMs are now available for purchase

EGi understands the critical links between programme design, quality geochemical sampling, testing, monitoring, expert observation, and expert interpretation. For decades, EGi has been leading the development of specialised environmental geochemical risk management techniques. Acid Neutralising Capacity (ANC) and Net Acid Generation (NAG) tests are an important component of EGi’s laboratory test suite and our risk management techniques. Knowing that many other laboratories often lack appropriate quality control, QC, measures for ANC and NAG tests, EGi developed and adopted routine analysis of reference materials in our own testing. This ensures that EGi laboratory produces analytical results to the highest standards. With collaboration from Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia, EGi directed an R&D programme to develop certified reference materials (CRM) to be used for QC purposes in ANC and NAG testing. The results of the R&D programme enable us to apply certified NAGpH values (3.4, 4.5 and 8.3) and certified ANC values (78 and 516 kg H2SO4/t) to five reference materials. Results for a sixth sample provided a reference value of 12 kg H2SO4/t as guide. We want to improve the quality of ARD characterisation and mitigation for the whole resources sector. Therefore, EGi have now made these CRMs available for purchase by EGi clients and other laboratories to facilitate improved QC protocols and increase end user confidence for programmes across the sector. Take steps towards improved laboratory QC and better results today. For more information or to receive a quote for EGi CRMs, send an e-mail outlining your needs to egi.lab@geochemistry.com.au.
